I love watching the red carpet during awards season. The red carpet features such amazing fashion and hair on such beautiful people, I get excited and inspired.
Charlize Theron always looks divine, she knows what works.
Emma Stone is my girl crush right now. I have a special place in my heart for redheads (being a wanna-be one my self). This plum color is perfect on her skin and her hair is simple and elegant.
But occasionally, there are a few that miss.
I love Kelly Macdonald! She is beautiful, an incredible actress, and I could listen to her talk in her Scottish accent for hours…I first saw her in No Country for Old Men, and now she is on the show Boardwalk Empire, and will be in the newest Pixar movie Brave later this year.
I love the simplicity and color of her dress…but I feel like her hair is too plain. I would have loved to see it down with a loose curl, or even half up and half down. I feel like she is depending on the dress to take you in but its not enough to keep attention.
She would look better with something like this on Julia Roberts
or even down and curled but pulled to one side like Anne Hathaway's
Rooney Mara - If you don't know who she is now, you will soon…she's popping up all over the place. I first saw her as the girlfriend who dumps Jessie Eisenberg in The Social Network. Most recently, she plays the lead in the American remake of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
Her hair in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
And here she is at the Golden Globes this year, she really is beautiful. I love how simple her hair is. With this dress, which really has a lot going on, her hair would need to be simple.
Now, I know she is growing out a crazy haircut from the movie so her choices are limited. I would just like a little more imagination on the red carpet - look how similar her has hair been at these other premiers and red carpet events ;)
Tilda Swinton - She has a very interesting look, and sometimes has worn some weird things…Sometimes the hair and clothing just don't come together to give the right look, for example from the Golden Globes last year:
But this year, I LOVE it all! While it's not my style, it works for her.
Who inspires you on the red carpet?
